The Arvada has a variety of transportation options, which
allow easy transportation to places like, major business and retail centers,
educational facilities, homes, and recreational and cultural facilities
throughout the state. Arvada is the western terminus of Interstate 76 that
begins at the intersection of Interstate 70 and State Highway 121. Other state
highways in Arvada include State Highway 72, State Highway 93, and State Highway
95. Major highways near Arvada include Interstate 25, Interstate 270, U.S.
Highway 36, and U.S. Highway 287. In addition, regional bicycle and pedestrian
trails, regional bus routes, and a major international airport, all making a
well rounded transportation system that serves the entire community efficiently.
The Amtrak California Zephyr train passes through the City of Arvada at every
morning and evening. Full Amtrak passenger and parcel service is available at
the nearby Denver Union Station.The Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD)
currently serves Arvada with seven local bus routes, seven express bus routes,
the CC regional bus route and the Arvada Call-and-Ride service. Denver
International Airport and Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport are two major
airports.

The City of Arvada has an extensive park and trail system in the whole city.
There are 90 developed parks, having over 600 acres and 60 miles of developed
trails. These are regional parks for soccer, softball, 2 disc golf courses, 3
Golf courses, 1 skateboard park and 1 dog park situated in the city. The city
has 52 undeveloped parks also, containing almost 3000 acres and 20 miles of
undeveloped trails.
Arvada has two sister cities as designated by Sister Cities International. The
two cities are Mechelen in Belgium and Kyzylorda in Kazakhstan respectively.

The City of Arvada is an attractive western suburb of the
Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area in Jefferson County and Adams
County, Colorado, United States. Olde Town Arvada is located 7 miles (11 km)
northwest of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. Arvada is located at
39°49′12″N, 105°6′40″W (39.819962, -105.110975), at 5,344 feet above the sea
level. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area
of 32.8 square miles (85.1 km²). The United States Census Bureau estimates that
the population of Arvada was 104,830 on 2006-07-01. Arvada is the 8th most
populous city in the state of Colorado and the 241st most populous city in the
United States. As of the census of 2000, there were 102,153 people, 39,019
households, and 27,742 families residing in the city. The population density was
3,128.1 people per square mile (1,207.6/km²).
